Electronics in year 7 involves making a door buzzer made with a simple push switch to force the buzzer on. The buzzer consists of two parts, a wooden box to house the components and the switch which will be operated from outside the room which is made of card. Each aspect of the project is thought through and decorated in an individual way, with decorative hole designs in the top of the box to allow the sound to come out, and the switch itself decorated to appeal to the individual. The pupils learn how a circuit works and what one needs to be successful. They also examine how circuits can be modified and explore using a soldering iron.
